Terry Jenson

Publisher

Terry Jenson, publisher, Clark’s Crossing Gazette, began his 20-year community newspaper career at his family’s newspaper in Outlook, Saskatchewan, in 1992, following a brief time working as a radio announcer.

Over the next five years, he learned all aspects of the newspaper business and eventually took over as publisher of the family newspaper until the company was sold in 2007.

In April 2008, he and his wife, Angela, decided to start a free distribution community newspaper from scratch in Warman, Saskatchewan, and The Clark’s Crossing Gazette was launched, with one employee, May 15, 2008.

Since then, The Gazette has grown to nine full-time equivalent positions, and, in March 2014, the company acquired a second newspaper, The Saskatchewan Valley News, adding six full-time equivalent positions.

Jensen is a past president of the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association and a former director of the Canadian Community Newspapers Association.
